Bereavement Poem – Excerpt

You meant everything to me

You, the very food of my soul

But a long life together was not to be

Now my heart is as black as coal

I had to watch you fade away

And beg for no more pain

And now, well,  I just long for the day

When I'll see your face again

Thank You – Satirical Excerpt

Your gift was greatly appreciated

It arrived at the crack of dawn

And as our coffers are somewhat deflated

We brought it down to the pawn.

I know our friendship soon will mend

And I hope the matter settles

It must be a popular marital trend

Including yours, we got five kettles!
